Pure Evil Bad to the bone... B-b-b-bad!
Carrie: 1976 / R / 97 Min. The evil ones are those who ridicule poor Carrie White, played by Sissy Spacek. They have no idea what they're in for in this Brian DePalma directed bloodbath. Also, look for John Travolta in one of his earliest roles!
Child's Play 2: 1990 / R / 98 Min. This is one of the few cases where the sequel is A LOT better than the original... All you need to know is that a dying criminal has transferred his soul (don't ask how or why) into a doll. The doll is named Chucky, and he's about as evil as they come! Good special effects and some funny diologue make this one worth renting. Christine: 1988 / PG / 90 Min. Based on the Stephen King novel, this is about a blood-red 1958 Plymouth Fury that comes with some extras the dealership never thought of. It's possessed and homicidal. One of the better Stephen King adaptations, this movie retains much of the spirit of the book.
The Exorcist: 1973 / R / 121 Min. The ultimate demonic possession movie, this one is better than any of the many copies that came after it, due in large part to William Friedkin's directing, and the seriousness with which the subject matter is handled. There are scarier movies than this, but few are freakier.
The Omen: 1976 / PG / 111 Min. Satan returns to Earth in the form of a small boy, to try to regain power over Mankind. Murder and mayhem follow in this very creepy movie. Poltergeist: 1982 / PG / 114 Min. What happens when you build a house over an old graveyard? All kinds of supernatural mischief, in this special-effects laden ghost story. Some thrills, some humor, and a couple of genuinely scary scenes. Rosemary's Baby: 1968 / R / 136 Min. The message here is 'Look out! Devil worshipers are everywhere!', as Mia Farrow finds out in this twisted tale. Ruth Gordon won an Oscar for her role in this one. SE7EN: 1995 / R / 127 Min. Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman are FBI agents on the trail of a serial killer in this terrific thriller. A great cast, combined with edge-of-your- seat suspense, are what makes this one a winner. If you have long fingernails, you won't after watching this! The Seventh Sign: 1988 / R / 94 Min. Demi Moore plays a woman whose unborn baby could bring about the Apocalypse. Well written and acted, with a couple great shock-fright scenes. This movie is actually a lot better than it sounds, but I'm trying not to give much away! Village of the Damned: 1960 / NR / 78 Min. These are those twelve creepy little English kids with weird eyes, that everyone seems to know about, even when they have never seen this low-budget sci-fi movie. They are bent on world domination, and have much fun showing off their evil powers over others. A fairly faithful remake came out in 1995, but it just doesn't deliver the same punch as the original. Things are always spookier in black & white!
